Dr. Hiral K. Shah is a board-certified radiation oncologist with more than 16 years of experience. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Texas in Austin and earned his medical degree with highest honors from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He then completed a highly selective radiation oncology residency program at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

As a resident, he was actively involved in clinical research in breast cancer and advanced radiation delivery, published several peer-reviewed articles and presented at multiple national and international meetings. Dr. Shah has authored several book chapters on the management of head and neck cancers and brain tumors. Dr. Shah has the most extensive experience with high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy, SRS, and SBRT in Pinellas county and is the only radiation oncologist offering both HDR brachytherapy and SBRT for treatment of Prostate Cancer.

Dr. Rahul P. Bhandari is a board-certified Radiation Oncologist, with more than 10 years of experience. He has a strong history in Academic Research in Radiation Oncology, publishing peer-reviewed papers at Georgetown University, Northwestern University, the University of Mississippi, and the VA Sonny Montgomery Hospital. Dr. Bhandari earned his undergraduate degree from George Washington 

University before going on to receive his medical degree through the University’s Medical Center early selection program. Dr. Bhandari completed his Radiation Oncology Residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident his last two years. After Residency, he joined VA Sonny Montgomery Hospital system, where he helped establish the Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) Program for Veterans in Jackson, MS.  He then practiced with Tampa Bay Radiation Oncology and the Cyberknife Center before joining Clearwater Radiation Oncology.

At Clearwater Radiation Oncology we understand the enormous stress a cancer diagnosis can have on patients and their family members.  We designed Clearwater Radiation Oncology based on feedback from hundreds of patients treated over the past 17 years.  

For patient convenience there is a covered patient drop off area that is within 10 steps of our office entrance.  The large waiting room windows allow natural light to enter creating a warm and calming environment.  Our staff is composed of individuals who have been taking care of cancer patients for over 100 years combined and whose sole focus is to make sure each patient is cared for like a member of the family.
