Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS)

Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS)

Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) uses many precisely focused radiation beams to treat tumors and other problems in the brain, neck, lungs, liver, spine, and other body parts.

Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) uses multiple high-intensity radiation beams to destroy both benign and cancerous tumors in the brain.  The beams are tightly focused and accurate in order to avoid damaging healthy cells. It can be given in a one-time therapy in a single day, or it can be broken into 2 to 5 treatments given over a week.  Radiosurgery may be used as an alternative to traditional open brain surgery, which requires an incision.  Dr. Shah has been treating patients with SRS since 2002.
